Antique French Walnut 13" Jewelry or Sewing Box, Chest, Coffret w Carved Flowers and Paw Feet Napoleon iii 1894-1957 and this set isFound in France, the top inset has a bit of a Black Forest feet to the carved flower plaque as focal point of the top. A large and heavy workbox or jewelry chest, it opens to reveal covered compartments and a hinged mirror that tucks into the inner lid. Perhaps a vanity or makeup box, but more likely than not, a work box. Women's sewing boxes were often compartmented and often had a mirror in the inner lid. Presents with dramatic beauty, very well
