Rare bakelite desk fan, E.M.I., Netherlands. 1950s. sold Ambitious in every sense ofBoth wall mounted and free standing, this petit post war desk fan was produced by Utrecht based Dutch manufacturer E. M. I. The specific model is a rarity today, the fan being in excellent vintage condition despite many years of use. Both the base, switch and motor housing are moulded from deep burgundy marbled bakelite, a predecessor to plastic.
