Rubber Drum Lamp 1 Metal Materials: stainless steelExperimental lamp from welded alumium, black and amber rubber, sapele (wood) and patinated aluminum. Thick ruber sheet has been cut, glued and riveted into a lampshade to create a warm glow illuminated by a single led bulb. The wood base is covered with a sheet of 1 4" black rubber and contains a piece of turned brass serving as a dimmer touch switch. This piece is the first in a series exploring thick rubber as a diffusing element in lighting.
