Antique Pearl, Ruby and Diamond Insect Bee Brooch tourmaline scarf or evening gownPearl, Ruby and Diamond Insect Bee Brooch Set in 15ct Gold The brooch is composed of a gorgeous pearl and cabochon ruby as the body of the bee while the wings are set throughout with old cut diamonds. To the centre is a 5 millimetre cream cultured pearl. The brooch is secured to reverse with a post and clasp fitting. Insect jewellery gained popularity during the Victorian era (18371901), when symbolism was central to design. Bees symbolised hard work,
