Into the Blue pillows I had never come acrossInto the Blue came together in my Brooklyn studio from antique Japanese cotton fabrics dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s, including katazome resist dyed indigo and bengala iron oxide dyed cloth. One side carries a repeating hawk pattern that I had never come across before. The other is a lighter blue indigo fabric with a large patch of the same hawk textile.
