I decided to go off trail to capture the sunlight as it penetrated through to the forest floor and illuminate the autumn colors of maple

This had been a beautiful summer sunrise landscape scene to photograph on this July morning at Wildflower Park

The temperature was 26F with 15-18 mph winds

It is made up of sandstone that has eroded over time leaving behind canyons and buttes

flattop mountain  and sprague lake are beautifully illuminated in the golden morning sun at Rocky Mountain National Park
