A Chinese Qing Dynasty Bronze Jar / Brush Wash on Stand Provenance: Transported from Indonesia toChinese pumpkin form jar is cast in bronze. Likely used as a calligraphy brush wash, or incense holder, it was later fitted with a wood cover and sits nicely within a carved blackwood stand. The body is cast in shallow relief with what appear to be the 8 Daoist Immortals and 'luck' symbols within shaped medallions, bordered by stylised flower heads along the rim. The base bears a lobed impressed mark of prunus beside a three character inscription.
