Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Art Print I Am the Vine the stonesFrances Cabrini was the youngest of 13 children, from a village near Milan, Italy. In 1880, when she was 30, she founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Although she wanted to do missionary work in China, Pope Leo XIII sent her to New York City instead. Mother Frances Cabrini and her sisters organized catechism and education classes for the Italian immigrants. She established schools and orphanages despite tremendous odds.
