他是第四届中国陶瓷艺术大师（全国仅45人，1997年由中国轻工业总会评定。早年深造于中央工艺美术学院陶瓷美术专业。中国工艺美术学会会员，联合国教科文组织授予其“民间工艺美术家”证书。从艺30余年，陶艺作品国家、部级一、二等奖30余件，发表专业论文10余篇。其陶艺作品收藏于中国工艺美术馆、北京人民大会堂、中国历史博物馆，以及新加坡、日本、韩国、意大利、法国、德国、美国、俄罗斯等10多个国家博物馆，曾获全国工艺美术行业科技成果一等奖，艺术生平收入《中国工艺美术名人词典》、《世界艺术家名人词典》等20多部典籍。
