Filing Cabinet, Black Lacquer colour-warm-elm The difference in our version

The difference in our version is the addition of a wooden hanging rail on the inside - something unfamiliar to Ming and Qing Dynasty Chinese who would always fold their clothes for storage inside cabinets and chests

The light finish on this particular blanket trunk is simply stunning

The top shelf is framed with wonderful open carvings that include a central long life symbol and a bat (symbolising good fortune) at each corner

with the larger ones were being referred to as hundred eye chests (or 'bei yau chu' in Chinese)

Available in warm elm to show the rich grain of the elm wood
