友禅で染められた更紗（さらさ）紋様の小紋から。

菱文様が重なるように表現されていますが、古来から「良い事が重なる」ように、文様を重ねて使うことは多用されてきました。

正倉院に所蔵される宝物に施される文様で、古くは上流階級しか見ることができなかった貴重な輸入品の紋様であるため現在でも格式高いモチーフとされています。

桜は寒い冬を耐え春に一気に開花する様子から、「繁栄」「豊かさ」の意味を持つとされています。桜紋様は「幸先の良いこと」「五穀豊穣」をあらわす吉祥紋様でもあります。
