Since returning to Darwin I have been delighted by these beautiful and often comical birds

In my  paintings I have tried to capture this joy

I never enjoyed eating Magpie Geese and when I was old enough to choose

I cherish my hunting adventures with my father although I’d rather forget the taste of our catch

(70x50cm) Artwork are created by Carla Russo, a local Darwin artist who is fascinated with the power of colour to change atmospheres and moods. She creates bright and colourful artworks to evoke positive emotions and to draw attention to the beauty in our surroundings. Carla mainly works with acrylic paint on canvas and is curious about loosely representing unique elements of Darwin life
