Ocean Bloom Larimar Earrings Serendipity Hand shaped sterling silver baseLarimar is a rare precious gemstone found exclusively in the Caribbean, on the island of Hispaniola. It is only found in a dormant, volcanic mountain range in the Baoruco Mountain of the Dominican Republic. A Peace Corps worker and a native Dominican found the specimens on the beach in 1970s, where it had washed down from the mountains. They named the gemstone Larimar, combining the name Larissa (said to be the Dominican islanders daughter), a young
