Sloans Lake Colorful Sunrise Building In late fall 2008

With the fresh snow on the grass and the fall color in the leaves I found myself on the capitol steps to capture this image west through Civic Center Park towards the City and County of Denver building

At first it was a reflection of a mountain in the distance I noticed

Normally the light we see with the first snowfall is a little later in the season and lights up the mountains in a different manner

The road was still in the process of being cleared for the season and scheduled to open in less than a week

Sloans Lake Colorful Sunrise Building In late fall 2008l went to Sloans Lake on a September morning with the goal of capturing the rising sun over the city of Denver. When I arrived the clouds were covering the city. In the matter of a few minutes they started to show the colors of the sun before sunrise which I was able to photograph. The calm winds as well as a long exposure helped add to the picture with the city and colors in the clouds reflecting in the lake.
