The base has a lovely oval cut-out centre giving the piece a nice ergonomic look

The table extends quickly and easily by simply pulling the two halves apart which reveal the hidden extension leaf

Manufactured by Bell Barn Furniture in the 1940s/50s primarily for use as school teacher desks
