He is from the original family. I purchased the bear from the Grandson of the original owner. He was very kind to share a little information about his Grandmother. What we know is the bears owner was Mildred Shimp. Shes from New Jersey and received the bear when she was just a little girl. The bear has his blank button, so we know the bear dates
