早春の席では、青瓷聞香机に白梅を一輪挿し、掛物には若やかな霞を詠んだ和歌を合わせます。青瓷の淡い蒼色に走る線文が、朝の大気に漂う靄を想起させ、香炉から静かに立ち上る香煙がその靄をいっそう増幅します。茶席全体がやわらかな薄曇りに包まれ、客人は春の訪れを視覚と嗅覚の両面で感じ取ることができます。
