It was made in a village called Sambu deep in the Darien jungle near Colombia. The fiber comes from a palm and the artists call it chunga. The dyes are all natural. Plate baskets are usually used to decorate walls. ARTISAN MADE: by Panamanian indigenous artisans using passed Plate Basket weaving techniques that are rooted deep in Embera and Wounaan traditions.
