Snowflake Obsidian 16" Neckwire Color:Black Gray Clear Preciosa Czech CrystalsChalcedony Trapped Mid Bubble Snowflake Obsidian is volcanic glass, formed when lava cools too quickly to crystallize but unlike solid black obsidian, small clusters of cristobalite (a mineral related to quartz) form within it as it cools, creating the white "snowflake" spots scattered through the black glass. Cut into a 40mm cabochon and strung on a silver finished neckwire, the stone sits as the sole focal point rather than one of several beads.
