I was mesmerized and when I went back to the studio I immediately made the decision to paint over the tree

I didnt start with a sketch but just worked it out on the canvas, making it up as I went. Soon I started to see a mask of some kind emerge from the structure. It felt non threatening and kind of regal, like a guardian. I like how this one turned out and plan to make more with this kind of
