本作の艶やかな黒は、茶事の灯りや床の間の花を映し込み、侘び寂びの空気を一層深めます。躙口をくぐり、客が茶室に入る瞬間からすでに、黒茶碗は茶会の主役として密やかな存在感を放ちます。一服を差し上げるたび、点前の流れが凛と引き締まり、亭主・客双方の心を静かに整えてくれることでしょう。

宮川香齋家の歴史と影響力

題名は「宵待」。日が暮れ、夜が来る少し前の時間です。明るさが完全には消えず、けれども昼の輪郭はほどけ始める。その曖昧で美しい時間が、白磁のやわらかな白と、青緑の点の連なりによって表されています。
